Relief Society Celebration

On March 17, 1842 the Relief Society of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was organized by Joseph Smith. In commemoration for this historical event, women all over the world celebrate being a member of this society. The Prophet, Joseph Smith said "This society shall rejoice and knowledge and intelligence shall flow down from this time-this is the beginning of better days to this Society." (Minutes of the Female Relief Society of Nauvoo, 28, Apr. 1842, 40).

I'm a member of this Society in the Midvalley 11th Branch. On Saturday, March 14th, 2009, we celebrated the knowledge and intelligence that has flown down in the form of talents and skills of the wonderful women in my branch. I learned about genealogy, temple work, digital scrap booking, dehydrating food, food storage, and how to enrich my life by creating beautiful things, i.e. sewing pillows, quilting, and painting.

I want to testify of the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the Relief Society. I'm grateful to faithful Latter Day Saint Women, who know where they came from before this life, their purpose here on earth, and where they are going after this life. They are making a difference is this confused world. I'm also grateful to my mom and grandmother for teaching me that I'm a daughter of a Heavenly Father and brother Jesus Christ that loves me, and to put my trust in Them.
